What is the difference between DFU Mode and the Recovery Mode?

The main difference between DFU Mode and the Recovery Mode is on iBoot. iBoot is the bootloader used on iOS devices (iPhone / iPad / iPod touch). Recovery Mode will load / activate iBoot to restore or upgrade process, while the DFU Mode does not load and will pass iBoot, so that the DFU Mode we are not only able to restore and upgrade but also can downgrade iOS.
iBoot will be active during the Recovery Mode runs, iBoot will check and ensure that the IOS to be restored must have a newer version than what is currently installed, otherwise it will iBoot terminate this restore process. Therefore, to downgrade us to position iDevice into DFU mode first.
So, to restore and upgrade the IOS we just need to position iDevice into Recovery Mode, but if you want to downgrade or upgrade to a custom firmware then we need to make iDevice go into DFU Mode.

that's roughly the discussion about recovery mode and DFU iphone, ipod, ipad etc that uses OS -IOS of aplle. useful hopefully if there are less please add .we discussed in the comment box. thanks
